Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm looking forward to a wonderful day with my family and a delicious turkey.
The Artist Market at the Montgomery Museum of Art was a wonderful experience. As usual there were many talented artist exhibiting their work. I was happy to be along side them.
This is what my space looked like.

Abstract painting

I love abstract paintings! They are fun to paint and exciting to study. Color and texture galore.
This is a recent acrylic painting, Yellow on Blue, 40"x30".

These four paintings are the latest bird series, Cardinal Series I through IV. They are small acrylic on silk, approximately 5"x5" in black wooden frames. They come to our bird feeder located outside the den door. It is wonderful to see them throughout the day.

I have been busy.
This is one of the paintings that I have finished for the artist market at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. You are invited to come visit and see my new work.

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful setting. Here I am sitting at my booth, set up early, waiting for the crowds! It was a very hot day, but lots of fun. I enjoyed visiting with the guests.

I have uploaded some of the favorite paintings. The small bird paintings that I have already shared with you were the most commented about. It is very helpful to hear the comments and see how different people pick out different paintings.

Memorial Day

I'm relaxing with family this holiday.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

I have just completed these paintings. The first one is actually 4 separate paintings. They are very small prints of my bird paintings on silk that I have painted over. The next one is Fruit and Flowers, a 14"x14" acrylic on canvas.
My sister, Susan and my sister-in-law, Linda and I are to show our work in Art on the Lake benefiting Children's Harbor at Lake Martin, AL. It takes place Saturday, May 29th. If you follow the link to my page, please note that the title of my first painting is Crazy Like a House, not Horse!

Wesleyan Day 2

Today was a great day at the show! Sorry I couldn't get the Internet to connect while I was there, but now I can insert a photo. With a little help from 2 very special people, I was able to rearrange my panels to be much more pleasing.
Christel, Barbara, Allison and Meghan stopped by today. Tomorrow I am looking forward to seeing more friends and family. Will you be one of them?

Wesleyan Artist Market

Today was the day to set up at the Wesleyan School for their Artist's Market. This is a photo of my booth. Come by and see it in person.
I am taking my computer tomorrow to see if I can get on their Internet. If it works out I will blog from there.
It was a fun day, but now I need a good night's sleep.

Angel in White

This is a small painting, only 7"x5", but I love it. I have done many angels, usually dressed in beautiful colors. Allison, a 4 year old granddaughter, looked at one and said, "Angels wear white." Well, you guessed it, I had to paint an angel in white!
I am starting to blog! This site will be more of a photo gallery so I can share my artwork with you. I work on my own time table, so please bear with me and keep checking back.
